ONE BOOK, READ TOGETHER
The teachers in Grades 1-4 have organized a fun evening to celebrate family reading. We are asking each family to read Pie by Sarah Weeks. On April 17, we will gather together to participate in a book discussion, engage in fun activities, and even enjoy some pie! We are hoping that all of you will join us.

Roycemore Student Garage Sale: A Mathematical Experience
We are so excited to extend our math learning in the lower school! When we return from Spring Break, students in grades 1-4 will be focusing on money and will participate in a “garage sale” over the course of two Thursday math periods. These dates will be April 18th and April 25th. Please read the parent letter with specific information about this event. The students will be learning about the “garage sale” this week (Student Letter) and will be coming home to gather items. Please let your classroom teacher know if you have any questions. The Auction and Scholarship Dinner supports the financial aid and scholarship funds of Roycemore School where nearly 50% of our student body receives some kind of financial aid. This incredible commitment is due to the support of our entire community, from current parents and grandparents to alumni and their families - all who want to see Roycemore continue to thrive in a manner that is accessible to people from all different backgrounds.
Also one of our Lower School grandfathers, Jerry Springer will be the host!

PICTURES THIS WEEK: I will be putting a lot of pictures on the blog at different places, but there will always be more at the bottom of the blog.
1. Before Spring Break, the 3rd Graders completed their study of chemistry where they had to figure out what five white powders were by doing many chemical experiments. One experiment was doing a heat test. The students organized lab notes and figured out what the powders were.Then the students had their assessment to figure out what two powders they had in their mystery bag.
2. Roycemore's 4th-8th students competed against four other schools in the Battle of the Books. Our 4th grade team "Dem Griffins" won first place! Congratulations Boys!!!

AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES!
Each week I will list all the activities that we offer, but do know that sometimes, some of them will not go. Please check them to see which ones are going that week.
The new session begins tomorrow, April 8. There are openings in every club if you have not registered, you still may!
Lego Club will meet Monday, April 8 in the First Grade Classroom from 3:15-4:00.
Coding Club will meet Monday, April 8 in the Second Grade Classroom from 3:15-4:00
Fitness Fun Friday will meet Friday, April 12 in the gym from 3:15-4:00. All pick-ups should be at the gym.
Martial Arts/Tae Kwon do will meet Tuesday, April 9 in the Multi Purpose Room from 3:15-4:00.
Yoga will meet Tuesday April 9 in the LS Music Room from 3:15-4:00.

Sprout will meet Tuesday April 9 in the LS Art Room 118 from 3:15-5:15.

A REMINDER: Please remember that Roycemore Lower School is a nut/peanut-free environment. Please remember this when you send in birthday treats and snacks for your children. There are many other allergies, specific to individual children, so please check with your classroom teacher before sending in treats. Thank you in advance for caring about all of our children.
