ADMISSIONS' MORNING
Tuesday, April 16th
8:30-10:00am
Do you know anyone interested in finding out more about Roycemore?  Attending one of our Admissions Mornings is a great way to see what Roycemore looks and feels like!  Interested families are invited to stop in any time during the event to talk to faculty, take a tour and meet current students who can share what the Roycemore experience has meant to them.

 ONE BOOK, READ TOGETHER

The teachers in Grades 1-4 have organized a fun evening to celebrate family reading.  We are asking each family to read Pie by Sarah Weeks.  On April 17, we will gather together to participate in a book discussion, engage in fun activities, and even enjoy some pie!  We are hoping that all of you will join us.

We look forward to seeing you there,

PICTURES THIS WEEK: I will be putting a lot of pictures on the blog at different places, but there will always be more at the bottom of the blog.

 1.  In our preschool, the children think they are playing, but oh are they learning! During calendar in the Pre-Kindergarten, the children chose what they liked to do at recess. They then counted and added the numbers, the teacher even wrote the algorithm on the board, and then they jumped and called out each number with each jump. They thought they were playing, but also learning that 4 + 5 = 9.

2. The Second Graders studied different human rights activists or people who have made a difference in our world.  Using Adobe Spark, they created posters of their favorite quote from Nelson Mandela.

  3.  Our Junior Kindergarten's enriched curriculum encourages children to love literature.  They are read to regularly of course, but they are also given the skills to enjoy books on their own. Many of the children have even begun to read.
