Please remember there is NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 21 to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Our Extended Day Program will NOT be available.

PREVIEW NIGHT/STATE OF THE SCHOOL Thursday, January 24 6:00-7:00 p.m.

This evening you will hear from Adrianne Finley Odell , Head of School and Tom Ellis, Board Chair, of all the exciting programs that are happening in our school.  You will then go to the classroom in which your children will be in next year to meet the teacher and hear all about the exciting curriculum, projects and activities that they are planning for them. We are all so proud of our amazing faculty and I know you will be too. Fourth Grade parents will hear about our fabulous Middle School from the Middle School faculty. This is what is so wonderful about Roycemore.  We already want you to make that connection with next year's teacher to start a relationship and partnership with them for your children.  There is nothing better than both of you working together for your child.  There will also be an exhibit of what our Middle School students are doing in P3, (Personal Passion Project). and our Upper School students doing in JST (January Short Term). Both of these, plus the Lower School Theme Week in March, are signature programs which set our school apart.
You should have received an invitation by separate email.

Childcare will be available!

MR. ROGER'S NEIGHBORHOOD: Attached to the email accompanying this blog are promo materials for the Roycemore sponsored showing of the film, Won't You Be My Neighbor, the Mr. Rogers documentary.  Please join us in a viewing of this fabulous film!  Here is the link to register:  https://goo.gl/forms/dgx1XVUC8ciotK312

FAN News: Roycemore is sponsoring a FAN (Family Action Network) speaker on Feb. 21. Yong Zhao will be speaking on "The Reach for Greatness: Education in the Age of Smart Machines"

PICTURES THIS WEEK: I will be putting a lot of pictures on the blog at different places, but there will always be more at the bottom of the blog.

   1. The Upper School has a signature program called JST (January Short Term). This is the time where the Upper School students have internships and participate in projects which give them real-world experiences while still in high school.  A group of students are interning under P. E. teacher Jessi Wunder.  One of their experiences is to teach basketball skills to our third and fourth graders.  Everyone is learning and having fun.

2.  Mike Byster, a math genius, visited the Grades 1-4 classrooms and showed them how to make math fun by tricks and games.  Everyone loved him.  A lot of parents joined us and were just as amazed as the children.
