 PUMPKIN CARVING NIGHT:
This is one of Lower School's favorite events.  We all have dinner, choose a pumpkin, carve a wonderful jack-o-lantern, and enjoy each others' company. Look for the invitation attached to the email accompanying the blog.
I know you will all have a wonderful time, eating dinner, carving pumpkins with your children and interacting with each other. We hope to see everyone there!

CARNIVAL, , October 26: This the day we celebrate Halloween at Roycemore. We all don our costumes and the Upper School students put on a giant fun fair for the Lower and Middle School students.
Watch for more information.

CONFERENCES, November 1 and 2. The teachers and I will be sending out requests for conferences soon so watch for the email. There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday November 2 for conferences and EDP is NOT available.

Garage Door Information
Please remember that the garage door will be locked to everyone who does not have an electronic keycard as of October 20. We are issuing these to anyone on approved pick-up list of our Early Childhood and Lower School students. If you have not done so already, please visit the receptionist to go through our Raptor system which does a basic criminal background check which takes about 60 seconds.  Once this check has been complete, you will receive the key card.  If you do not do this, you will not be able to access the garage and will have to come in the main door of the building.

CHESS TOURNAMENT Sat. November 3rd Kings and Queens, who provide chess instruction to our children is having a chess tournament on November 3rd in Wheeling.  Your children do not have to part of our chess program to participate. Everyone who knows chess is welcome from novices to experts. I have attached their flyer to the email accompanying the blog.

PICTURES THIS WEEK: I will be putting a lot of pictures on the blog at different places, but there will always be more at the bottom of the blog.

1. Be sure to see all the first-fourth graders pictures as part of our LEADER Wall next to the Dining Hall.  They are all striving to be leaders as part of our Leader in Me program.

2. The Lower School Cross Country Team took part in the Roycemore Cross Country Meet! Everyone tried hard and did their own personal best AND had a lot of fun!

3. Last week the third and fourth graders did lots of math activities with their pumpkins.  This week they baked pumpkin cake. YUM!

4. The Kindergarten loves to read with their Middle School Reading Buddie.  There is nothing better than a buddy!
